We used to think of Gideon as a great warrior who saved Israel from the hands of the Midianites. However, through your word,
we have come to understand that he was not a warrior. Also, the 300 who followed Gideon were actually cowards.
Yet, with distorted biases, we regarded them as great heroes. We even said, "Gideon's 300 warriors, Gideon's 300 warriors,"
Faith that Saves Faith that Perishes
Their actions showed that their faith, although they knew and believed in God, did not meet the conditions for a faith that leads to salvation.
Similarly in Rahab’s time, knowing, believing,
and confessing alone would not be
sufficient for salvation.
It is only when our faith is demonstrated
through actions of obedience,
like with Rahab, that we receive salvation.
